Name: |
Sir Rafe Sadleir
Title:
Knight Banneret, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancashire
What family do you have with you on Progress?
None, my wife and children are at home at Standon House preparing for a summer progress that Her Majesty has promised to include my home on her way North.
Who is your chief ally on this Progress?
I have many allies from my service to Henry, Edward and Her Majesty, although my current position as chancellor of Lanacshire requires close liason with Lord Derby.
Who is your enemy on this Progress?
None specifically, but there are those that objected to my part in putting down the 'Northern rebellion' (and lived to tell the tale!)
Why are you on Progress?
I have spent my life devoted to Her Majesty and her family. I am here to serve as a liason with enemies and suitors alike, and be ready, at a moments notice, for my next ambassadorial duty.
Why are you at Court?
I may not be of noble blood, but I am reputed to be fairly well off, (actually bloody rich), and enjoy the company of those who live in similar circumstances. Also I consider it in everyones interest that I am close to Her Majesty.
Three (3) facts that we know about you and can talk or react about:
Fact1:
I am the richest commoner in the land.
Fact2:
I am the latest Knight Banneret, (and history will probably show that I am the last)
Fact3:
I was principal Secretary of State to Henry VIII
What ONE thing can YOU (the actor) tell us/show us about your character that you want us to 'see' when we play off of you?:
While being extremely wealthy, Sir Rafe does not act as we sometimes call 'the nuveau riche', but comports himself in a manner acceptable to his noble colleagues.
